Publications: Alex Lukas – “SAIII, JS, JT” Zine

Chicago-based artist Alex Lukas recently released a new self-published art book in the form of SAIII, JS, JT. The 56-page book contains a selection of different print mediums including color and B&W photocopy with risograph pages, with a number of fold-out spreads. Upcoming: Gary Baseman – “Play With Us Or Else” @ Vinyl on Vinyl

Tonight (March 7th) in the Philippines, Gary Baseman’s (interviewed) will be opening a show at Vinyl on Vinyl entitled Play With Us Or Else. Along with paintings, art toys, and costumed fun, the Los Angeles-based artist will also be signing the catalogue from his first museum retrospective, The Door Is Always Open, held at the Skirball Cultural Center last year. Tonight, February 5th (5-8pm), Stephen Webster in Beverly Hills will be hosting a new show from  D*Face (interviewed) along with the US release of his new monograph – One Man and His Dog. Along with this signing session, a new collaboration print between the UK-based artist and his friend Shepard Fairey, who wrote an essay for the book, will be released entitled FACE to *FACE (Edition of 200, 18″ x 24″, $80). The UK-based D*Face (interviewed) will be traveling to Stephen Webster’s Beverly Hills for the US launch of his book One Man and His Dog on Wednesday, February 5th (5-8pm). Along with the standard edition of the monograph, a special box set (limited to 50, $250) will be available which includes a six color screen print. Publications: David Choe for VICE

The newest VICE magazine features the artwork of David Choe (featured) gracing its cover on what they refer to as their The Horse Is a Horse of Course of Course issue. If you remember, VICE was for whom Choe’s Thumbs Up! series was filmed for where the street and graffiti artist was seen hitchiking his way across North America and China. Discuss David Choe here.

Streets: D*Face (Tokyo)

The UK-based D*Face (interviewed) is currently in Japan to promote his new book – The Art of D*Face: One Man and His Dog. To that end, he will be holding a signing event (tonight) and show at Parco Gallery X in Tokyo where he will also be releasing a Japanese flag version print (seen below).  Of course, while in town, he also took time to work on a mural (located in Shibuya). KAWS (aka Brian Donnelly) was recently featured along with James Jebbia (founder of Supreme) in i-D Magazine in their Collector’s Issue.
