Streets: G40 – Aryz, ROA, Jaz, Pixel Pancho, Gaia (Part 1)

It looks like the G40 Art Summit in Richmond, Virginia that we mentioned earlier has kicked off with murals going up at multiple locations around town. Starting things off were Aryz with a massive still-life, ROA with a bird and arrow, Jaz with six lions, Pixel Pancho with two walls in his signature robotic style, and Gaia with his hands and dove. As we reach the end of March, we have some more worthy walls to share with you. Leading things off is another skeletal mural from Shok-1, this time in neon. Streets: London’s largest mural by Agents of Change

With the sun shining and scaffolding removed, wraps have come off London’s largest graffiti mural, covering two sides of a six-storey building in King’s Cross. Members of the Agents of Change crew with London based Remi/Rough, Edinburgh’s Steve More, LX.One from Paris, LA-based Augustine Kofie created this colourful geometrical artwork using over 500 litres of spray paint. Another weekend, another Streets: World Roundup here on AM. The highlighted mural this time comes from Tahrir Square in Egypt where Sheikh Khan painted one of the barriers that the Egyptian military erected to divide the streets that connect to government power centers. This wall, which was painted to look as if it was never there is one of many that the young artists in the area have painted over (story via Hyperallergic). Recently, Nick Walker (interviewed) took a little trip across the pond to Chi-town hoping to spread a little Vandal love. With the weather finally cooperating Nick packed his freshly cut stencils and hit the streets of Chicago. His goal was to go big with his infamous character on the outside of Wicker Park night spot Violet Hour. Streets: JR x Liu Bolin (Part II)

Yesterday, we gave you an inside look at the collaborative project between Liu Bolin and JR (featured). During the first part of the day, the French artist wheat-pasted up a beautiful photo mural of the Liu. Now, we get to see Chinese artist return the favor and camouflage JR into his own art with his signature touch. After a showing in San Francisco at the beginning of this year, Hush (interviewed) has moved on to Melbourne to prepare for his next exhibition scheduled for May at the Metro Gallery. In preparation for his upcoming show at Eli Klein Fine Art, Beijing-based artist Liu Bolin was in town to once again hit up New York. We haven’t heard much from Monsieur Invader since he served up space waffles at a showing in London (covered) back in December. It seem though that the street tile specialist has been busy putting in work in Brussels recently plastering the walls with his pieces. As usual, he put a little local flavor into this invasion with references to the famous peeing statue that is a symbol for the city as well as some use of the Belgium colors.
