A couple of days ago, Ernest Zacharevic made this new playful yet emotive intervention on the streets of NYC. Titled Human Flow, the piece was directly inspired by Ai Weiwei’s documentary from which the artist borrowed the title, feeling the urge to produce a work that passes along its important message. The image features a group of little kids floating on safety rings accompanied by picture-book like birds. Fifty years since the uprising in Paris in 1968, Banksy has left his mark in the the birthplace of modern stencil art. Seemingly coinciding with Paris Fashion Week, a few new yet unconfirmed pieces from Banksy recently materialized in the French capital. We have three murals for you so far, starting with the wall above featuring a girl spray painting a damask-like pattern over a swastika, speaking to the loss of innocence and the fears of rising anti-Semitism in Europe. Earlier this month in the Netherlands, Telmo Miel got up a majestic new mural for the Royal Netherlands Marine Corps. Working on the historical ‘Van Ghent’ Base in Rotterdam, the Dutch duo titled the piece after the motto of the elite amphibious infantry unit – As Far As The World Extends. Streets: D*Face // Dictador Art Masters (Columbia)

Recently in Columbia, D*Face (interviewed) participated in the first Dictador Art Masters event along a international roster of street artists. Painting at an old abandoned rum distillery in the rainforest, the British artist had free rein to explore the pipes, tanks, nooks and crannies to search for some interesting “canvas” ideas. Recently, Augustine Kofie (featured) teamed up with AiseBorn to paint an outstanding new mural at the former Rendon Hotel in Los Angeles. The harmonious joint effort on the 7th Street facade between the two locally-based artists was aided by the common elements that can be seen in their work like geometrical patterns, architectural influences, and a background in graffiti. Streets: Invader (Los Angeles)

It looks like while he was in town for the BEYOND THE STREETS exhibition (covered), Invader added to his prolific body of work on the streets of Los Angeles that stretches back over a decade. For what he calls the 9th wave of invasion of the LA, the French artist got up 29 new mosaics throughout the city including a sweet piece featuring The Dude placed perfectly outside a building that has a bowling alley. Streets: Telmo Miel x James Bullough (Berlin)

Spending a week together in Berlin, Telmo Miel and James Bullough worked on a stunning new piece (located Bernburger Straße 35) that blends the work of the street artists together perfectly. Painting the large wall for the Berlin Mural Fest with the “Unity” concept proposed by Urban Nation in mind, the Dutch duo mixed their patchy & segmented imagery with the locally-based Bullough’s glitchy portraiture in a way the matches their styles up amazingly well. Recently in the Netherlands, Leon Keer created five street pieces in memory of M.C. Escher in the city of his birth – Leeuwarden. Painted in the anormorphic style that he has become known for, the Dutch artist thrilled the crowds who gathered to watch his work and provided perfect photo ops for the art lovers. Following up our previous coverage of the RAD Napa project (curated by Thinkspace and sponsored by The Napa Valley Wine Train), we now have photos from something Mars-1 (featured) painted recently. Creating a mural from his Infinite Tapestry series next to the railroad tracks, the Bay Area-based artist wove multiple globes of his bubbles together on the two part wall.
