Upcoming: Thomas Doyle – “No Man’s Land” @ LeBasse Projects

Last we saw Thomas Doyle’s sculptural genius was during last year in Miami during Art Basel Week. Now AM and fans in Los Angeles will get to see a full body of work later this month (June 22) when his solo No Man’s Land opens at LeBasse Projects, the site of his show in 2001 (covered). The exhibition will feature works from his Proxy series, miniature dioramas and models invariably feature some natural disaster striking the quite life of suburbia. Discuss Thomas Doyle here.

Showing: Troy “Other” Lovegates – “Shallow Lake” @ MOHS exhibit

At the end of last month, Troy Lovegates (Other) opened a solo show at MOHS exhibit entitled Shallow Lake. The new exhibition in Copenhagen features paintings and sculptural work created in the course of his travels including trips to Toronto, Detroit, Chicago, as well as a transatlantic cruise. Openings: “Otherworld” Group Show @ Roq la Rue

Roq la Rue recently employed the help of many amazing artists to fill the walls for their Otherworld group show. The title of the show was also the theme, with the artists interpreting “otherworld” however they saw fit. With a roster this good, one month just wouldn’t be enough, so the show will be on display until July 27th. Preview: Paul Wackers – “Almost Somewhere” @ Narwhal Projects

After a recent showing in Los Angeles (covered), Paul Wackers will be taking his contemporary still life paintings up north for an exhibition at Narwhal Projects, opening on June 13th. Almost Somewhere will be the Brooklyn-based artist’s first showcase at the Toronto gallery and will continue his representations of domestic collections of objects and plants in his unique way. Preview / Basel Week Switzerland ’13: Audrey Kawasaki @ Thinkspace / SCOPE

As most in the art world knows, Basel Week Switzerland is underway. Openings: Maya Hayuk “All Access” @ AF Gallery, Cologne

American artist Maya Hayuk recently visited Cologne, Germany where she took part in its CityLeaks Urban Art Festival. It is the second time that the event has been organized there this year. KAWS – “GISWIL” @ More Gallery

With Art Basel opening next week in Switzerland, the art world is gearing up for another round of festivities after barely recovering from the Hong Kong version. One of the associated shows that we are looking forward to is KAWS’ GISWIL at More Gallery. Along a massive wooden companions with “Pinocchio noses,” paintings from the American artist will also be on display.
