On Thursday, 6th of June, Chinese artist DalEast opened his first UK solo show titled The London Dare – The Finale Night (347 Old Street) The show was the big finish to his recent visit to Londontown during which he painted some of his best murals to date. The artist, who only recently confirmed his status with a sold out show at Jonathan Levine Gallery (covered), has become famous for his unique abstract 3D street work, which is now gracing the walls all over the world. For his London visit, the artist found 7 locations around the city, photographed them before he painted murals there, and then acrylic painted the same images on the photo prints. The results are unique works that were exhibited along with original sketches, a novel approach to bringing street art to galleries and collectors. The event was also the culmination an original web-contest he organized for his fans, 50 of whom can be expecting a prize soon.
