A couple of weeks ago, AM paid a visit to Mark Whalen aka Kill Pixie’s studio as he was putting the final touches on his latest collection which will debut this coming weekend at the Merry Karnowksy Gallery. Kid Zoom, whom we last caught up with at his New York solo show, was recently featured in a video by Kingbrown Magazine. The detailed footage captures his can control and skills with spray paint quite well and will give you an idea of what to expect for the Young & Free show opening in San Francisco on September 10th at the 941 Geary. Tucson will be getting a dose of the New Contemporary Art Movement tomorrow, September 8th, when Impetus opens at the University of Arizona School of Art. The group show will be curated by Thinkspace and be held at the the Joseph Gross Gallery. Slipping quietly under the radar in the wake of his impressive exhibition in London back in July, Barry McGee unveiled another new body of work just a short distance away from the UK this past weekend. Last Thursday evening, Spoke Art hosted the opening of an exhibition featuring 4 artists from different parts of the globe: Handiedan (Amsterdam), Craww (UK), Charmaine Olivia (San Francisco) and Tatiana Suarez(New York).
