Another of the many temporary Los Angeles gallery transplants with an impressive booth at Art Basel Miami Beach was Roberts & Tilton (teased). Intriguing work in an array of mediums from Kehinde Wiley, Ed Templeton, Titus Kaphar, Noah Davis, Jimmy Baker, Ai Yamaguchi, Adam Pendleton and Ellen De Meutter were presented in striking fashion. Los Angeles contemporary art staple Blum & Poe was yet another in a seemingly never ending stream of must-see booths at the main fair, Art Basel Miami Beach. Of particular interest was a massive new work by Takashi Murakami, exhibiting the Japanese pop art icon’s unique range and continued evolution within his self-branded “superflat” style. Last night, before heading out to the requisite evening parties at Art Basel, we stopped by Primary Projects to check out the street calligraphic stylings of Retna (featured).
