Currently showing at Circleculture Gallery in Berlin, Kelsey Brookes’ new body of work features his signature colorful eruptions of abstract shapes. When examined closer, the raw forms coalesce into the various “Caped Creatures” as well as a place of refuge in what appears to be a Noah’s Ark painting. South Yorkshire’s finest – Kid Acne – opened his latest solo show in London last week at Concrete Hermit. ‘When the Smoke Clears’ brings a fine selection of the varied aspects of this artist’s oeuvre together in one space. The installation begins with the hundreds of one-line-drawings of Kid Acne’s signature house emblem in white paint marker pen on the window to the gallery and store. This Thursday a cool group show will be opening in New York’s Chelsea district at Indica on 11th. The exhibition named “Dirty Little Secret” will be featuring new works from Tobias Keene, Laura Keeble, Paul Hazelton, K-Guy and Nicolas Bowers. This show is curated by our friend and fellow collector Wendy Asher whom you may remember from her appearance in “Exit Through the Gift Shop”. Doors open at 6pm so get there early.
