After Melbourne, LA and NY, the next show on Søren Solkær‘s Surface world tour opened Friday June 12th at Øksnehallen in Copenhagen. The exhibition in his hometown is the largest on the world tour, covering a 3,500 square meter area, which provided a great setting for a major street art related event. The 5th show on Søren Solkær‘s Surface world tour opened on June 12th at Øksnehallen in central Copenhagen. The exhibition itself features 122 portraits of some of world’s most famous street artists, who were all featured in his recent book Surface (covered). To celebrate this big event, the Danish photographer invited six international and esteemed artists to create large-scale murals in the streets of Copenhagen. Danish photographer Søren Solkær is set to launch a series worldwide exhibitions in conjunction with the release of his latest book. Surface is the definitive portrait anthology of some of the most significant street artists in practice today. The Copenhagen-based photographer has spent the last three years shooting artists across the globe, closely working with them on making these portraits represent them in the light they feel comfortable with.
