The Fabergé Big Egg Hunt (New York)

Kicking off yesterday, the Fabergé Big Egg Hunt features egg sculptures customized by 260 artists, designers, photographers, architects and other creatives, some seen regularly here on AM. This event is a followup to the successful hunts held in London in 2012 and Dublin in 2013. An app has been created that will allow participants in the search to check in each time an egg is found, with the location hidden until 10 people discover it (prizes will be given out). On April 18th, each egg will be […]

Openings: Dennis Morris – “Bob Marley: Giant” @ Known Gallery

Over the weekend, the Known Gallery in Los Angeles hosted the opening for an exhibition from Dennis Morris, a UK-based photographer especially known for his work in the music industry. This particular showing focuses on his iconic shots of Bob Marley, a seminal period of time in his young career when he toured with the Jamaican singer-songwriter. Videos / Upcoming: Coachella Walls

Today, Cesar Chavez Day, the Date Farmers are officially announcing the start of an annual Coachella Walls event. Organized in honor of the labor leader and civil rights activist as well as the anonymous farm worker, the local artistic duo hope to bring attention to the poor community with this mural project. Despite the name of the Coachella music festival set to open soon, the tax revenue goes to the city of Indio with the actual city of Coachella remaining a forgotten area. Held in downtown Coachella’s historic Pueblo Viejo, the […]

On April 4th, a retrospective will open  from French artist Thierry Noir, one of the first artist that started painted Berlin Wall back in the 1984 with an idea “to transform it, to make it ridiculous, and ultimately to help destroy it.” Thierry moved to Berlin in the early 80s and was influenced by the strong underground […]

Streets: Faith47 (Cape Town)

Faith47 just shared this beautiful piece in Khayelitsha, Cape Town. Titled You Hold No Blame For My Proud Heart, the piece is shows two swans facing each other forming a heard shaped image. In her signature manner, the South African artist used watered out paint that dripped all over the wall as well as got soaked in, making the mural become one with the surface and the building it’s painted on. The transparency of the image and the fact that the wall wasn’t cleaned or buffed before […]

Videos: Judith Supine Scales the Queensboro Bridge

We just received this exclusive video from Judith Supine‘s camp, showing some behind the scene action that took place the other night in NYC. As street art lovers already know, Supine has been known to put extra effort to place his public work in some of the most unusual places reachable. So, following his stunt from 2007, when he installed one of his pieces on Manhattan Bridge, the other night he climbed the Queensboro bridge in order to display one of his collages from the Golden Child […]

Xenz Hand Paints London’s Malmaison Hotel

We haven’t heard much from Xenz since his solo show at The Outsiders‘ Newcastle location (covered). It sounds like he has certainly stayed busy though hand finishing a hundred rooms and suites at the boutique central London hotel, Malmaison, with his recognizable vines, butterflies, flowers, and no doubt birds. Take a look at more examples in the photos below… Via Lazarides. Discuss Xenz here.
