Streets: Phlegm (USA)

After participating in couple of street art festivals all over Europe, British muralist and artist Phlegm recently visited the East Coast of US. During his visit, he painted three huge murals, each quite different than the others, but all so recognizable and unique. The first one he did was in collaboration with the Bushwick Collective, on Troutman Street in Brooklyn. This image shows a huge giraffe that birds are using as a hideout from poachers that are catching them. Existing tags on the building were cleverly […]

Openings: Neck Face – “No Mercy For The Weak” @ New Image Art

Last weekend, the New Image Art hosted another “frightening” exhibition from Neck Face (interviewed) at their West Hollywood showspace. In addition to works and prints highlighting his special form of dark humor, he also created a shrine to the Night Stalker (Richard Ramirez), who recently died in prison, as well as accented the walls with his signature colors and aesthetic. Take a look at more photos below… Photo credit: Coldsmoke (via Hypebeast). Discuss Neck Face here.

Os Gemeos x Hennessy – VS Cognac Bottle Launch (Los Angeles)

This time it was on the west coast and the good folks of Los Angeles had an opportunity to enjoy twins talent and their vibrant Brazilian vibe. Much like the New York Launch event, Otavio got the crowd going with a lively DJ set on the wheels of steel. Instead of Nas headlining this show, it was West Coast legend Warren G that anchored the amazing night of music performance […]

Tomorrow night (September 12) in New York, Cheim & Read will be presenting a show from Barry McGee, his first solo with the gallery and in the Big Apple in 8 years. One of the most influential graffiti and street artists from the Bay Area, McGee has “assembled clusters of framed drawings and hand-painted wood panels accompany loose stacks of embellished surfboards, fetish-like wooden objects, and specially-made furniture.” Sounds like this is one of the must attend shows of the year if you are in the area… so […]
