Currently showing at the Eric Firestone Gallery in East Hampton through July 2nd is a new exhibition from Bäst. SEAFOAM features the NY-based street artist’s gritty paintings, mixed-media, and sculptural works, many of which use found materials from his home shores of Coney Island. Upcoming: Pose & Revok – “Uphill Both Ways” @ Jonathan LeVine Gallery

This Saturday night (June 29th), the Jonathan LeVine Gallery will be presenting a two-person exhibition (cureated by Roger Gastman) from Pose and Revok. Uphill Both Ways will bring together the two MSK-affiliated graffiti artists in a show inspired by “legal persecution and loss, as well as general themes of the human struggle.” The Detroit-based Revok will bring with him his abstract geometric panels (seen above), formed from found materials sourced from abandoned structures in the city while the Chicago-based Pose will be showing his cartoonish, fragmented portraits […]

Swoon Braddock Tiles Project

Street artist and humanitarian  Swoon (interviewed) has recently announced a new project she is working on in North Braddock, Pennsylvania. Entitled Braddock Tiles, the venture will take place in an abandoned church which will eventually become an art-making hub in the blighted area. Their first order of business is hand-making 20,000 ceramic tiles to restore the roof of the historic building. Streets: Dabs Myla 2013 Euro Summer Tour

Australian artistic couple, Dabs Myla, recently left their LA home/studio to spend couple of weeks traveling and painting around Europe. By creating poppy, very colorful, clean line wall murals, often topped with cute, cartoonish like characters that are their signature elements, the artists left their marks on walls all over the old continent. Streets: Liqen – “Mandarina Chicharra” (London)

While in UK earlier this month, the Spanish-born Liqen painted a vibrant mural, Mandarina Chicharra, in South London in the Dulwich area. Covering the wall in the courtyard of a local school with his surreal imagery, the children will either be inspired by this hybrid orange and insect creature, or have bad dreams.
