Streets: Blu (Argentina) Part III

Masterful street muralist Blu made the most of his time in Argentina apparently. Despite already completing two large murals (here & here) in Buenos Aires, here is news of yet a third large politically charged piece. Keith Haring @ Pace Prints

Over the weekend, an exhibition of prints and small scale multiples by Keith Haring closed in New York at Pace Prints. Haring believed in and was fascinated by the process of printmaking and in the course of his career produced over 60 limited editions on paper using a variety of methods including lithograph, silk-screen, etching, embossing and aquatint. David Choe Paints New Facebook Offices

With Mark Zuckerberg moving into the new Facebook headquarters to Menlo Park, California, he decided he needed some interior decorating. David Choe (featured) had painted up the original offices back in 2006, so it was only natural for Zuckerberg to invite the street specialist back to put his signature touch on the inside the building. The social networking genius apparently has a taste for art as he already has some of Choe’s paintings in his personal collection and also has commissioned Aakash Nihalani in the past. […]

Releases: Shepard Fairey – “Occupy Protester” Print

At a random time in the morning (PST) on January 12th, the now familiar cover image for TIME Magazine’s Person of the Year issue from Shepard Fairey (featured) will go on sale at his webstore. The screenprint entitled Occupy Protester will be sized at 18″ x 24″, come in an edition of 450, and cost $60 with all proceeds going to Occupy Wall Street. The limited edition piece will be signed by both Fairey and Sarah Mason, whose picture was used for the image. Discuss Shepard Fairey here.

Teaser: “The Boneyard Project: Return Trip” @ Pima Air and Space Museum

On January 28th, a unique art event will open at the Pima Art and Space Museum in Tucson, AZ featuring the work of over 30 artists. Herakut @ HALLENKUNST

After finishing their project in Los Angeles painting segments of the Berlin Wall (covered), Herakut headed over to their home country to exhibit some of their painting skills in a pop-up show. HALLENKUNST was held in Chemnitz, Germany and seeks to highlight the growing urban art movement and public art scene. Videos: An Evening with Ron English @ MoMA

Ron English (featured) fans out there – tomorrow night (January 9th) if you head over to the MoMA in New York, you can spend an evening with the self-described “popoganda” specialist. The itinerary for the night includes Pedro Carvajal’s 2005 documentary feature Popaganda: The Art and Crimes of Ron English, a sampling of English’s recent moving image works, including the “Detroit project” from his ongoing video-posting series, and a discussion between Paper magazine editor Carlo McCormick and Ron. We have another diverse mix of artists from all around the world for this week’s street roundup. Starting off, check out this collaboration between Bom-K of Da Mental Vaporz & Liliwenn in Ris Orangis, France entitled Trouble Jeu. You can see more of the intricate details here if interested.
