Releases: KAWS – “SMALL LIE” Figures

After dropping hints on Instagram for the last few weeks, KAWS is ready to finally release his SMALL LIE figures. This new sculptural limited edition features his popular companion figure (a remix of Mickey Mouse with a skull and crossbones head), with the addition of a Pinocchio nose. The figure will be produced in the usual Black, Grey, and Brown colorways and will be available tomorrow at noon EST on the Brooklyn-based artist’s website. Discuss KAWS here.

Tomorrow at 4 PM (Paris time), Social Animals will be releasing an intriguing limited edition fashioned from the collaborative efforts of JR (interviewed), Os Gemeos, and Pharrell. Four young contemporary urban artists – Sebas Velasco (Spain), Francisco Bosoletti (Argentina), Spok (Spain) and Luis Gómez (Venezuela), will be showing their distinctive works at Adda&Taxie in Paris from December 9th until January 27th. Basel Week Miami ’18 / Releases: KAWS – “The News” Print Portfolio @ Pace Prints

Like in recent years (2015, 2016), KAWS has planned a limited edition release through Pace Prints tomorrow (December 6th at 11 am EST) for Basel Week Miami. The portfolio of nine tondo prints (run of 100), entitled THE NEWS, featuring the Brooklyn-based artist’s pop culture infused abstractions, have a tiered pricing system with the cost going up as the edition sells out. Releases: Pejac – “Desprestigio”

Pejac recently announced his first ever sculptural edition based on a piece that was exhibited earlier this year at his A Forest show in Venice (covered). For this release, the Spanish artist created a complex production process that involved different techniques and mediums, challenging both himself personally and the idea of an editioned art piece. Streets: Peeta (Italy)

Recently in Agropoli, Italy, Peeta completed a mind bending new mural for the a.DNA project that is a prime example of his style. Spanning four walls at the Liceo Statale A.Gatto public school, the piece from the Venice-based artist features lettering from his graffiti background as well as an anamorphic technique that deceives the eye. The resulting items mix the brand’s sleek products with the Bay Area-based artist’s signature geometric style that fans of public art will be familiar with. Currently showing in Detroit at Library Street Collective is a four person exhibition featuring contributions from Paul Kremer, Mark Flood, MOMO, and REVOK. On the 2nd of December, Ernest Zacharevic will be releasing his latest self-produced fine art edition, No Fly Zone, a hand finished 21 layer silkscreen print. The image is based on an original canvas that will be available via Sotheby’s first ever dedicated street art auction in Hong Kong, and will also feature works from José Parla, Vhils, and Invader to name a few.
