This Saturday, July 31, Merry Karnowsky Gallery will be hosting a new show, “Vivid Fiction,” a joint venture between artists Junko Mizuno, Aiko, and Samuel Lowder aka FrePrs. Although it seems to be a somewhat discordant grouping, each artist has something to offer to those that attend. Aiko Nakagawa, formerly part of the  Faile (featured), continues to develop her own imagery and style, showing a feminine touch that has been missing from the Brooklyn collective since she left. Junko Mizuno will be bringing her unique […]

Streets: Nick Walker – “Amerikarma” in Williamsburg

Before we hit up the Meat Packing District with Nick Walker (interviewed), we spent the day in Williamsburg on the corner of Roebling & Metropolitan working on another mural. This “legal” project location was graciously provided by our friends at Brooklyn Street Art. Under the sweltering heat, Nick pulled out his latest stencil “Amerikarma”. We thought it would be a simple project, but the detailed oriented Mr. Walker took this project very seriously and dedicated over 5 hours working the Bullets & Stripes mural. Check […]

Streets: Sam3 for Insitu Festival (Spain)

After doing some good work for this year’s Fame Festival, Sam3 moves on to another gathering of street artists, this time in Spain. The new Insitu Festival (see Escif’s piece), the brainchild of Madrid artist San, was held in walled city of Cáceres, Spain – a city known for their stork’s nests of all things. When taken in that context, this beautiful piece from the master of the silhouettes begins to make more sense. A closer look at this mural after the jump, as well […]

Ben Eine’s Strangest Week

And so, a very unique and a very strange week for Ben Eine has come to an end. A multitude of articles appeared […]

Showing / Installation: Best | Ever “The Delicacy of Passion” @ Studio55

UK artist duo Best | Ever recently brought a selection of their work to London for a showcase entitled “The Delicacy of Passion”. The exhibition served as a teaser for a full scale solo show planned for this Autumn. The team of Hadley Newman and Neil Edward have been working together for the last year and a half after both honing their skills individually as artists and graffiti writers. For this show they created a heavily decorated setting for the work, applying their spray-can realism […]
