From 16th until 23rd of June, Jerkface will be having a pop-up solo show in his hometown of New York at 393 Broadway, New York. Previews: Ludo – “I’ve Been Missing You” @ Magda Danysz (Paris)

On June 17th, Ludo (interviewed) will be opening a new show at the Paris location of Magda Danysz. The prolific street artists is often on the road so this exhibition entitled I’ve Been Missing You reflects his feelings for his hometown. Along with pieces featuring his distinctive “Nature’s Revenge” theme as well as signature green tint, this show will also feature an an installation made up of an army of fireflies whose phosphorescent light dazzles and envelops while questioning the relationship between men and technology. Previews: Collin van der Sluijs & Super A – “Back and Forth” @ First Amendment Gallery

Tonight (June 8th) in San Francisco, First Amendment Gallery will be opening a joint show from Collin van der Sluijs and Super A. Entitled Back and Forth, the exhibition features collaborative works from the Dutch artists (something they have done often on the streets) as well as individual works. Super A’s paintings feature a dark sense of humor while wander Sluijs’ painting are more loose and free-flowing. Take a look at more preview images below (first five are collaborations). Releases: Banksy UK Election Print

Trying a new technique to further his political activism, Banksy has announced that he will be releasing a new print soon to coincide with the UK Elections on June 9th. He explains – “This limited edition artwork on archival quality paper is completely free, but is only available to registered voters in the Bristol North West, Bristol West, North Somerset, Thornbury, Kingswood and Filton constituencies. Streets: Telmo Miel – “Trollstigen” (Norway)

Recently in Gol, Norway, a new mural was painted by Telmo Miel entitled appropriately entitled Trollstigen. The Dutch duo explain – “They come in all shapes and sizes. Trolls, Beings from Norse mythology and Scandinavian folklore. Till this day they’re still being hunted by tourists, trying to get a glimpse of one of these creatures.” Discuss Telmo Miel here.

Just released this morning, the Blush edition of KAWS’ Companion figure is still available on his website. The two versions (regular and flayed) are both open editions and retail for $200 each. If you remember, word on these first surfaced around the time the Brooklyn-based artist opened his show in Shanghai. Discuss KAWS here.

Bergen-based artist Naeem Searle aka NIMI recently spent couple of days in Stavanger painting his piece for the latest addition to Nuart Festival‘s ongoing Art City initiative. The Last Traveler is a ‘sister piece’ to NIMI’s mural Sofia and the Mountain (covered), painted for the same project. Following up on an exhibition in the neighboring Hong Kong (covered), Vhils (filmed) will be opening a show on May 31st at Navy Yard No.1 – Contemporary Art Center in Macau. Entitled Debris, like his exhibition in HK, this event was organized with the support of the Hong Kong Contemporary Art Foundation (HOCA) and will lead to an interesting body of work from the Lisbon-based artist seeing as this Special Administrative Region of China used to be a Portuguese colony. Recap: POW! WOW! DC 2017

The Washington D.C. edition of POW! WOW! recently returned in 2017 with another 15 artists creating murals in the NoMa district. Local artists CHELOVE, JD Deardourff, Jordann Wine, Julia Chon, Key Han, Martin Swift, Mas Paz, and Matt Corrado joined artists traveling from afar – Kaplan Bunce (Hawaii), Madsteez (California), STASH (Brooklyn) – seen above, TRAV (California), It’s a Living (Mexico), Muro (Spain), and Qbic (Russia) in painting walls in the neighborhood at a number of locations such as the Metropolitan Branch Trail and the new AVA apartment building at 55 M Street NE.
