Streets: Tristan Eaton (Tampa)

Last weekend, Tristan Eaton spent some time painting a mural on the side of Bern’s Steak House in Tampa, Florida. The piece (arranged by CASS Contemporary) on the 60 x 30 foot was created in the LA-based artist’s signature patchwork style to honor the restaurant’s 60th anniversary and features Florida panthers intertwined with classical statues. The imagery includes much of the steakhouse’s rich history including the face of the founder, the ornate iron work inside, the rich wood, parts of a map displayed, as well as some references […]

As part of his solo exhibition with the HOCA Foundation in Hong Kong, Alexandre Farto aka Vhils (filmed) has prepped a special installation at the Terrace of Pier 4 in Central. The neon works were modeled after the ubiquitous lighted signage the Portuguese saw during his residency in Hong Kong, as well as images that he created from scratch. Showing: Adam Neate – “Heroes” @ Elms Lesters Painting Rooms

Elms Lesters Painting Rooms in London are currently showing a small selection of new dimensional surface paintings on canvas by Adam Neate (interviewed). Heroes is an informal selection of new works created with a new approach that artist is currently developing. The new pieces present his experiments with the dimensional surfaces on the canvas itself. After creating 3D dimensional paintings for years, the London-based artist challenged himself to capture the essence of those works by utilizing the contrast between matte, gloss and textured paints. Reducing the different techniques and mediums he […]

Street: Herakut (Los Angeles)

Leading up to the opening of their solo show this weekend at Corey Helford Gallery, Herakut painted a new mural featuring their signature mix of photorealistic and abstract elements. The new piece on the side of the gallery was painted next something Ron English put up and you can definitely see that what they chose to paint was partially in reaction to that.
