During the past week, JR (featured) has been hitting the L.A. streets with his signature photographs while at the same time continuing his “Wrinkles In The City” campaign (covered here, here, here and here). Organized by Daniel Salin, this recent JR tour ended with three murals put up by the French photographer around different parts of the Downtown Los Angeles district. Apparently, TED prize winner JR is still in Los Angeles working on his massive The Wrinkles of the City project. We thought he had finished the series of walls (see Venice & Melrose) and left town after his TED acceptance speech, but now we see a new piece is up on the side of the Sushi Roku in West Hollywood. As we reported earlier, French street activist and photographer JR is continuing his assault on the walls of LA since starting with a mural in Venice last week. LA weekly is following his progress in bringing his “The Wrinkles of the City” to Socal on their website (map) and this is the latest piece at Barracuda in Melrose. This newest project will lead in nicely to the TED Prize award show on March 2 (live streaming) where he will reveal his “wish.” Discuss JR here.

It looks like street photographer JR is back in Southern California after Eurotrash took over the Lazarides pop-up gallery last July. If you remember, as an adjunct for that show, he worked on a sweet collaboration with Vhils in downtown LA.
