Starting this week, artists have been hard at work painting murals for this year’s POW! WOW! Hawaii. Beautifying the streets of Kaka’ako in Oahu with their imagery, the participants get to enjoy the tropical weather and throngs of fans as they leave their mark at the annual event. Here’s a look at some of the work in progress including a huge piece from Audrey Kawasaki (seen above). Along with the mural painting, there are also many associated events so check out the entire schedule here. Discuss POW! […]

Yesterday, Tristan Eaton revealed a project he has been working on getting started for the past five years – a plan to paint the Red Sands Sea Forts off the coast of the UK along with Shepard Fairey, Futura, How & Nosm, and The London Police. Although the proposal does have its naysayers who bring up some valid points, the ultimate goal is to bring enough attention to these historic structures built during World War II thereby generating enough money to hopefully preserve these for […]
After working with the TAO Group on their NY downtown location by installing some of his art work in 2013 (covered), British artist Hush (interviewed) was recently asked to curate the decor for a new restaurant located on the Bowery on the Lower East Side called Vandal. Teaming up with celebrity chef Chris Santos (of Chopped fame), the appropriately named restaurant, bar, and lounge features fare inspired by European and Asian street food and the interiors featuring murals and installations from Hush himself and artists like Shepard Fairey, Apexer, Tristan Eaton, Eelus, Vhils, and […]

Over the weekend, Subliminal Projects in Los Angeles held the opening reception for Tristan Eaton’s new show (presented by Library Street Collective). Legacy is the locally-based artist’s first solo exhibition in the area in almost a decade, a fact not lost on the crowds that lined up to check out the new work and to show their support. The new paintings feature Eaton’s characteristic patchwork style with this subject matter quite personal this time around. as they were inspired by audio interviews conducted by him of nearly a dozen people who played a pivotal […]
On November 7th, Library Street Collective will be presenting a show from Tristan Eaton at Subliminal Projects in Los Angeles. The prolific American artist has been busy as of late painting murals on the streets but has set aside time to prepare for Legacy, his first solo in the United States in nearly a decade. The concept behind the show is quite personal, consisting of mixed-media paintings and fabricated metal print works inspired by audio interviews conducted by Eaton of nearly a dozen people who played a pivotal […]
