Kickstarter: Painted Oceans

Yesterday, Tristan Eaton revealed a project he has been working on getting started for the past five years – a plan to paint the Red Sands Sea Forts off the coast of the UK along with Shepard Fairey, Futura, How & Nosm, and The London Police. Although the proposal does have its naysayers who bring up some valid points, the ultimate goal is to bring enough attention to these historic structures built during World War II thereby generating enough money to hopefully preserve these for […]

Hush Curated Decor For Vandal Restaurant (New York)

After working with the TAO Group on their NY downtown location by installing some of his art work in 2013 (covered), British artist Hush (interviewed) was recently asked to curate the decor for a new restaurant located on the Bowery on the Lower East Side called Vandal. The new paintings feature Eaton’s characteristic patchwork style with this subject matter quite personal this time around. as they were inspired by audio interviews conducted by him of nearly a dozen people who played a pivotal […]

Previews: Tristan Eaton – “Legacy” @ Subliminal Projects

On November 7th, Library Street Collective will be presenting a show from Tristan Eaton at Subliminal Projects in Los Angeles. The prolific American artist has been busy as of late painting murals on the streets but has set aside time to prepare for Legacy, his first solo in the United States in nearly a decade. The concept behind the show is quite personal, consisting of mixed-media paintings and fabricated metal print works inspired by audio interviews conducted by Eaton of nearly a dozen people who played a pivotal […]
