Releases: Joe Ledbetter – “Fire-Cat” Figure

Those who have been in the vinyl art toy game for a while will no doubt remember Joe Ledbetter’s original Fire-Cat figure, one of his iconic characters. The Los Angeles-based artist has now decided to release an updated version of the toy – producing, funding and designing this project himself. Releases: Faith47 Zine & Screenprint

Faith47 is self releasing a collectible series of intimate books and screen prints. The first set is scheduled to be available for the solstice on 21st of June at via her new online store. The The Hidden Years zine is the first of the series, signed and numbered in an edition of 100, and includes a compilation of sketches from 2013 & 2014. Streets: Shepard Fairey (Charleston)

Last month, we brought you photos from Shepard Fairey’s (featured) big museum exhibition in Charleston at The Halsey. As you may have guessed from the nature of his work, he also put in time on the streets. Working with his Obey crew, he pasted up his iconic Andre the Giant as well as other familiarly treated imagery up around town. Streets: Tristan Eaton (Honolulu)

POW! WOW! recently completed another exciting project in their hometown of Honolulu. A few months after wrapping up another successful edition of POW! WOW! Hawaii (covered), they teamed up with Versace in order to create a large scale mural to celebrate the opening of their new flagship store. Located on one of the most prominent streets of the city, this wall was painted by Tristan Eaton who was invited by the curator Jasper Wong. After scratching, spraying and painting his recognizable mark on walls, windows, bus stops, and under bridges around London and other parts of Europe, Borondo just finished working on his next print. Faith47 recently collaborated with world famous Die Antwoord by creating some backdrops for their new music video Pitbull Terrier. Painting in and around this abandoned building in Johannesburg, the South African artist created two works titled Escape and Escape This Place.
