Videos: Tim Biskup for Mastodon’s “Dry Bone Valley” Music Video

Continuing to show an appreciation for a genre of art that AM also appreciates, Mastodon recently released their Tim Biskup (featured) directed Dry Bone Valley music video from their album The Hunter (which featured cover design from A.J. Fosik). The video which premiered on Boing Boing, also featured animation and the signature pixelated creatures from the LA-based artist. Discuss Tim Biskup here.

The two Patrick’s from Brooklyn-based  Faile (featured) were featured in a video interview with Ride5 Films recently. The duo talked candidly about the beginnings of their careers, the origin of their name, the importance of connecting with their audience, the impact of the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster and the associated imagery in their work, and much more. Late last year during the holidays, we brought you pictures from Dabs Myla‘s latest mural which took place in the Culver City of Los Angeles (covered). It turns out the project (set up through Branded Arts and Thinkspace Gallery) has a story behind it that could be just as interesting as the aesthetic value of the mural itself. Continuing their great line of video programming, NOWNESS has hunt down Damien Hirst to get his thoughts on his unprecedented eleven simultaneous exhibitions at worldwide Gagosians. The footage features the YBA frontrunner explaining his thoughts behind his longstanding series of Spot Paintings (1986–2011) including his response to his often-criticized use of assistants. Videos: Futura 2000 – “Expansions” @ Galerie Jerome de Noirmont (Paris)

As part of our coverage of Futura’s show at Jerome de Noirmont in Paris, you may have noticed some photos of a large abstract mural that the crowd was admiring. Herakut @ HALLENKUNST

After finishing their project in Los Angeles painting segments of the Berlin Wall (covered), Herakut headed over to their home country to exhibit some of their painting skills in a pop-up show. HALLENKUNST was held in Chemnitz, Germany and seeks to highlight the growing urban art movement and public art scene. Videos: An Evening with Ron English @ MoMA

Ron English (featured) fans out there – tomorrow night (January 9th) if you head over to the MoMA in New York, you can spend an evening with the self-described “popoganda” specialist. The itinerary for the night includes Pedro Carvajal’s 2005 documentary feature Popaganda: The Art and Crimes of Ron English, a sampling of English’s recent moving image works, including the “Detroit project” from his ongoing video-posting series, and a discussion between Paper magazine editor Carlo McCormick and Ron.
