As we previewed last week, upstart street art conglomerate TrustoCorp (featured) delivered the goods this past weekend in New York City. Combining quality design, public awareness and some good old fashioned mischief, the anonymous board of directors of the Rebranding division of TrustoCorp Intl. went all out in their latest public hijacking. If you’re in the greater New York area, keep an open eye out next time you’re shopping, if you’re lucky you’ll stumble across a TrustoCorp product. If you’re even luckier, you’ll be able […]

After curating a series of Shinganist shows, Japanese urban artist Usugrow opened his own solo show last week at the StolenSpace Gallery with a collection of paintings, figures, and photographs. This time, he brought along his alterego “Hasadhu”, a fictional character created by Usugrow to reflect his own thoughts, in a show that he describes as “a big storm which will engulf everybody around him and the process of making artwork as the calm night before the storm.” As always, Usugrow’s unique combination of the […]

Last Thursday night, AM visited the Fecal Face Dot Gallery’s opening of their latest show – “The Fool”. Combining the talents of two LA artists, Marco Zamora and Derek Albeck, “The Fool” is a perfectly curated and highly cohesive exposition of two wonderfully cohesive styles. Utilizing muted subjects, bright splashes of color, and the occasional reflective surface, “The Fool” is an intriguing look at a variety of subjects, from society’s downtrodden to the viewer themselves. Opening photos after the jump.

London artist Dale Grimshaw’s third solo exhibition, “Arcana”, will be showing at the Signal Gallery starting next weekend. For this new body of work, Grimshaw takes inspiration from the imagery of the Tarot, taking his figurative paintings in a new yet still emotive and raw direction. Fans of his mixture of the abstract and realistic work will want to be there for the opening on April 9th. Another preview image after the jump.

Hope everyone is having a good Easter! Ron English (featured) was in Colorado Springs yesterday and sent us this video of him launching “Santa Christ”. A funny and strange play on this holiday… could it be his spin on the joke: “Who gets to cross first at the Stop Sign when there’s the Easter Bunny, Santa Clause, and the perfect…” Enjoy the video. Discuss Ron English here.
