We love the way that UK artist D*Face combines a healthy mix of pop art with street art, and these pictures of some of his latest outdoor work are no exception. D*Face was recently invited out to Italy by Rate Civic Pisano – Pisa Town Council – to paint a mural dedicated to Keith Haring, who was commissioned by the town to paint his rare “permanent” mural “Tuttomondo” in the city exactly 20 years ago. Read on for further details after the jump…

Mark Jenkins is shaking things up at FAME Festival (covered here). AM’s favorite tape sculptor has grabbed Grottaglie’s attention with an impressive installation on one of the town’s characteristically charming buildings.  As director Angelo Milano describes it, “Everybody was cool and smiling, including the old lady screaming, “Ggiovine!?! Ggiovvine!! Ascinne!” (English: “Hey boy!?! Hey boy!! Get down!”)

According to the South China Morning Post, Zevs’ passport has been confiscated and it appears he is stuck in Hong Kong for the moment pending resolution of his court case. If you recall, he was arrested ahead of his “Liquidated Logos” show (covered) for painting one of his famous dripping Chanel logos on the outside of an Armani store in Central. The good news for him though is the amount of news coverage and publicity this is generating. Check out the video above where he […]

Steve Powers, Greg Gossel (interviewed) and Greg Lamarche gave our neighbors up North a taste of their respective typographical style, comic book and pop culture inspired imagery and a bit of NYC graffiti meets fine art, with their group show “Get Over It” at Toronto’s Show & Tell Gallery. With a strong body of work from all three artists, this show pleased old fans and undoubtedly resulted in creating some new ones as well. See all the photos from the opening after the jump.

Looks like Studiocromie is getting ready to release this beautiful screen-printed ceramic plate by Dave Kinsey. These will be a limited edition and will cost about 220 euros. This should not come as a surprise as the FAME Festival this year, also put on by Studiocromie, is encouraging artists to work with ceramics as well.  Take a look at the signature on the back of the plate as well as a picture of the ceramic workshop after the jump…

Berlin-based artist, Jaybo (aka Monk), opened his show “Headscape: Tales From the Drifters” in London this weekend at the Signal Gallery (interviewed) in London. This show from the versatile artist focuses on his portrait style of painting as well as several large murals.  The distorted and contorted faces in this body of work certainly convey a raw emotion that leaves a lasting impression in the viewer’s mind.  Particularly striking is his use of color – brilliant reds that contrast and draw our attention to each […]
