Travis Louie’s first solo in New York was as good as the Adams Family was strange and boy was it strange… err good… umm… well both actually. Uniquely hidden away at the back of a hip East Village bar, the FUSE Gallery premiered Strange Neighbors (previewed/interviewed) to a crowded and energetic group. AM was on hand as Travis presented a bountiful 15 piece show (which is more than his usual for any show). Each painting was beautifully executed and well crafted. Each character was accompanied with a […]

We love how lighting effects and ambience really highlighted each piece of art nicely. Some favorites as well as all the photos after the jump.

Herakut’s (interviewed) show “Dirty Laundry” (previewed) is officially opening tonight but here are some photos from the preview night courtesy of Romanywg (photographer extraordinaire). The setup looks amazing – from the “flesh suit laundry” installation to the presumably custom painted walls. Everything was top notch. We had originally thought that because of the fact that it was an exhibition of pre-commissioned paintings that it would be a pretty random show.  We were wrong.  All the pieces in this new body of work definitely fits together […]

David B. Smith Gallery or the gallery formerly known as Limited Addiction is showcasing three of their artists this year at Art Basel (Miami) – Josh Keyes, Jason Thielke, and Gregory Euclide. The exhibit will be at the Aqua Wynwood this year starting November 4th. These artists all have their distinctive styles that we like: Keyes with his “cubism” and ecological themes, Thielke with his architectural interpretations of the human form, and Euclide with his multi-layered landscapes… David has kindly sent us some preview images from […]
