Streets: Sam3 & Liqen Collab in Spain

We had just been introduced to Liqen and one of his collaborations recently and here we already see him creating another joint mural, this time with Spanish compatriot Sam3. This piece in Pontevedra, entitled Sirena II, has one of Liqen’s fanciful monochromatic white works taking a little swim with clusters of Sam3’s signature shadow people. See the whole mural and some detailed shots after the jump…

Preview: Nathan Ota – “An Unforeseen Homecoming” @ La Luz de Jesus

A show we mentioned earlier this month is finally opening this Friday at La Luz de Jesus. The forests will come alive with Nathan Ota’s “An Unforseen Homecoming” as his hybrid wood creatures take over the walls at the LA gallery. More preview images after the jump…

Releases: Michael Hussar – “White Devil” Miniprint

Aptly referred to as a “deal with the devil”, our friends at Baby Tattoo have tipped us off to a new miniprint from Michael Hussar. Priced only at $10, this 4″ x 6″ print entitled “White Devil”, is a promotional print for his forthcoming book White. Also look for Hussar in the fast approaching Baby Tattooville this year. More views of the print (available here) after the jump…

Barry McGee Mural on Houston & Bowery Completed

As quickly as it started just after midnight of Monday morning, it ended. Barry McGee (aka Twist) and his friend/assistant Josh Lazcano (aka Amaze) worked throughout the night into the wee hours of the morning (definitely outlasting AM into the am…) to complete an amazing mural that will hopefully last long enough for the people of New York to enjoy. We went back to the spot to enjoy the fruits of Barry & Josh’s Labor basking in daylight on the iconic corner of Houston & Bowery. […]

Futura & X-Ghetto 666 for Chill.and.Go 2 Exhibition

Apparently, Futura hasn’t gotten his fill of collaborations after an epic piece in New York with Os Gemeos early this month. He recently partnered up with local masked artist X-Ghetto 666 (yes, that’s his name) in Mexico to customized a blacked out bus for the Chill.and.Go 2, a big cycling event. Take a look at more pics of the results of his can control and technique after the jump…

Streets: More Banksy

Looks like Banksy has updated his website with some of his recent work, confirming the Hastings and Glastonbury pieces we previously reported on. What’s even more interesting are some previously unseen stencils that are revealed as well as some clever pranks & installation pieces on video (more on that later). More after the jump…

Nuart ’10: Dotmasters

After sharing the fantastic Blu x Erica Il Cane collaboration from the Nuart Festival with you, the next mural we want to bring your attention to is the Dotmaster’s piece. Check out the footage above of a nice little timelapse or take a look at some pics after the jump…

Our friend Greg “Craola” Simkins (featured) will be curating a upcoming group show and he wanted to share this cryptic little note with us. Figure it out? Well, it’s the first little hint for all you art loving sleuths out there. We can’t reveal much right now, but we can tell you it’s going to be a monster. The show will be held at  Gallery 1988 (LA) in March of 2011. Stay tuned as we’ll be revealing more details as we get closer to launch. For now just […]

Preview: Brendan Monroe – “Figments” @ Galerie L.J.

This weekend, Brendan Monroe (interviewed), now based in Sweden, will be showing a new body of work “Figments” at Galerie LJ. It’s been almost two years since his last show at the Parisian gallery and he will again be showing alongside artistic colleague and now wife, Evah Fan. We highly recommend you make plans to attend if you can for the opening this Saturday, Sept 4th because not only will Brendan be bringing along his wonderfully textured paintings, he will have some sculptural works as […]

Streets: Barry McGee (New York)

It looks like Barry McGee has begin his assault on New York by throwing up huge tags all over the mural space at the Houston and Bowery location we first told you about last week. Initially, this looks pretty similar to the wall he worked on in San Diego for the Viva La Revolucion show but we will be monitoring the site for any additional progress. More pics after the jump…
