With this latest edition of our Streets: World Roundup article, we turn our eyes to Las Vegas for our featured mural from ROA. The Belgium-based artist withstood the desert heat for four days of hard work before completing this piece with the image of a horny toad, a local species that can squirt blood out of its eyes to deter predators. Breeze Block Gallery opened their huge group show Wider than a postcard (previewed) alongside the first solo show in their new gallery 2 space – olive47’s bonita bonita (featured) a couple of weeks back to a packed Portland crowd. Over 400 individual works went into the postcard show with 200 artists providing postcard sized works. On the back of his Space//Form group exhibition last year (covered), Arrested Motion’s Sven Davis is working with Breeze Block Gallery in Portland again on another huge group event entitled Wider than a postcard. Sweet Toof seems to be the unintentional focus for AM this week. Seeing his work on shutters, walls and wheels he certainly has been getting about. Definitely a favourite, was seeing his new piece on Bethnel Green Road with Brooklyn graffiti artist, Smells, a real winner. Dale Grimshaw’s vibrant paintings were on full display last Friday when his new show opened at the Signal Gallery in London. London artist Dale Grimshaw’s third solo exhibition, “Arcana”, will be showing at the Signal Gallery starting next weekend. For this new body of work, Grimshaw takes inspiration from the imagery of the Tarot, taking his figurative paintings in a new yet still emotive and raw direction. Fans of his mixture of the abstract and realistic work will want to be there for the opening on April 9th. Another preview image after the jump.
