Just the other night, the Alice Gallery in Brussels played host to a new body of work from Boris Tellegen aka Delta. The Amsterdam-based abstract graffiti specialist has been hitting up various parts of Europe recently with his art projects and shows including large-scale sculptural pieces in March at the Muziekgebouw Concert Hall in his home-city (covered) and then Basel, Switzerland for a showing at the kunstraum.ch artspace (covered) in July. After hanging up his distinctive large-scale sculptural pieces in March at the Muziekgebouw Concert Hall in his home-city of Amsterdam (covered), Boris Tellegen aka Delta moved on to his next project, this time in the epicenter of art fair world – Basel, Switzerland. One of the most respected old-school writers from Amsterdam, Delta continues to explore his post-graf abstract aesthetic with this transformation of the kunstraum.ch artspace into an immersive installation. Today in Modena, Italy, Gallerie Civica is hosting the opening of KINDERGARTEN, a group show featuring the talents of Tom Sachs, Futura, Mode 2, Os Gemeos, Kostas Seremetis and Delta. It looks like each of the artists have taken time to bring some sculptural works and installations to the space, leading to a dramatic setting – one that should be enjoyable for “children” of all ages. It looks like Boris Tellegen aka Delta has decided to go big since we last saw his work at the Elms Lester show in 2009. These new large-scale floating sculptural works from the Dutch artist are currently on display at Amsterdam’s Muziekgebouw Concert Hall and are collectively entitled Subduction Zones, placed to welcome the World Minimal Music Festival. Art Stars – Polo Jeans Project

Starting early this year, Polo Jeans Co. Ralph Lauren began commissioning artists all over Europe to customize star shaped “canvases” made from denim. This list includes many artists that readers of AM will be familiar with including Matt Small (interviewed), Pam Glew, Pedro Matos, Herakut (interviewed), Delta, and Case. With the stars and stripes flag as inspiration, the artists created some pretty fantastic pieces that will appear in Polo Jeans Co. stores as well as all together in an exhibition in London at the end [...]

Last night, Elms Lester held a special private viewing as two top notch international artists visited the London gallery to show off their unique and contrasting geometric styles. The Dutch artist known as Delta (Boris Tellegen) showed off a diverse arsenal of new works (including sculptures, paintings and 3-D installation pieces) which depicted the complex layers and symmetry that we’ve come to expect from the graffiti artist. Dalek (James Marshall – interviewed) balanced out the show with this renowned “superflat” geometric colors and meticulous line-work. [...]
