Upcoming: Boris Tellegan – “Pieces” @ Backslash

Returning for his third solo show with Backslash on April 20th, Boris Tellegen aka Delta will be presenting a new body of work entitled Pieces. Included in the exhibition are a series of paper collages (pictures here), sculptures, and installations, all strongly influences by the Dutch artist’s interest in architecture (also seen with his work on the streets). Rounding out the show will be a  projected video that retraces the lettering he famously applied to trains between 2014 and 2017. Discuss Boris “Delta” Tellegen here.

On February 12th, Boris “Delta” Tellegen will be unveiling a new body of work at Backslash in Paris entitled Current. His second solo with the gallery will see him further expand on his post-graffiti abstraction with a collection of works inspired by the electrical current, it’s movement and unbroken activity. For those familiar with his work, the pieces from Boris “Delta” Tellegen, whether on the streets or in galleries, are very structural in nature. Interestingly, he has taken the architectural elements to his craft and applied them to the facade of a building in Harleem in the Netherlands. It looks like Boris Tellegen (DELTA) has been working on a new project since he participated in a group show (covered) with an installation in Amsterdam last year. Made in collaboration with Case Studyo (also see ESPO), Krux13 is a stool & drawer combo with lines that bring to mind the aesthetic seen from the Dutch writer’s work on the street as well as in the gallery. Currently in Amsterdam, fans of Boris Tellegen (DELTA) can check out an installation that is showing at the Ron Mandos Gallery. The locally based graffiti and fine artist was invited to participate in the Edge Of Space exhibition that primarily showcases the work of Ron van der Ende. For his part, Tellegen contributed an inset sculptural installation that continues to explore the transformation of his two-dimensional street work into three-dimensional mixed media pieces. Just the other night, the Alice Gallery in Brussels played host to a new body of work from Boris Tellegen aka Delta. After hanging up his distinctive large-scale sculptural pieces in March at the Muziekgebouw Concert Hall in his home-city of Amsterdam (covered), Boris Tellegen aka Delta moved on to his next project, this time in the epicenter of art fair world – Basel, Switzerland. Showing: “KINDERGARTEN” @ Galleria Civica (Italy)

Today in Modena, Italy, Gallerie Civica is hosting the opening of KINDERGARTEN, a group show featuring the talents of Tom Sachs, Futura, Mode 2, Os Gemeos, Kostas Seremetis and Delta. It looks like Boris Tellegen aka Delta has decided to go big since we last saw his work at the Elms Lester show in 2009. These new large-scale floating sculptural works from the Dutch artist are currently on display at Amsterdam’s Muziekgebouw Concert Hall and are collectively entitled Subduction Zones, placed to welcome the World Minimal Music Festival.
