Upcoming: Eric Yahnker – “Noah’s Yacht” @ Zevitas Marcus

On March 12th, fans in Los Angeles are in for a treat as Eric Yahnker will be opening his first solo in the area in nearly three years. Entitled Noah’s Yacht, the exhibition hosted by Zevitas Marcus will feature all new graphite and colored pencil drawings from the locally-based artist. Openings: “Major Work” @ Chandran Gallery

Earlier this month, Chandran Gallery in San Francisco opened a show curated by Andrew Schoultz entitled Major Work. The locally-based artist carefully selected a roster of participants that included himself, Alicia McCarthy, Aaron Noble, Kelsey Brookes, Revok, James Marshall (Dalek), Sam Friedman, Eric Yahnker, Mark Dean Veca, Saber, Hilary Pecis, Tim Biskup, Eric White, and Allison Schulnik. Basel Week Miami ’12: Ambach & Rice @ NADA

Hailing from Los Angeles and formerly of Seattle, Ambach & Rice’s booth at NADA (highlights here) during Basel Week Miami featured two mid-sized drawings by Eric Yahnker from his Long-Banged Lady series and a large-scale piece called The Good Samaritan. The booth also featured sculptures by Ron van der Ende and Karen Sargsyan.
