Following his recent participation to the Open Walls Baltimore (covered here) Franco Fasoli aka Jaz recently opened his first European solo show at RAS Gallery in Barcelona, curated by Maximiliano Ruiz and produced by Suben. Through a broad selection of works on paper and large scale canvases, the new body of work focuses on the duality of elements, clashes of forces with a mix of constellations. For our streets roundup this week, we’ll start with this interesting new piece in Detroit. The mural painted by SEVER was taken from the Instagram feed of SABER (interviewed) and looks to be a tribute piece to some of the greats in the street art scene like Barry McGee, Os Gemeos, Kaws, Futura, and Shepard Fairey. It looks like the G40 Art Summit in Richmond, Virginia that we mentioned earlier has kicked off with murals going up at multiple locations around town. Preview: “My Turn” @ Carmichael Gallery

This Saturday night (March 17) in Culver City, the Carmichael Gallery will be hosting a group exhibition entitled My Turn. The show is the first curatorial project from Los Angeles-based artist Bumblebee and features some of the young up-and-coming talent in the street and urban art movement including Hyuro, Interesni Kazki, Jaz, Klone, LinelineDot, Moneyless, Penny, Stinkfish, and Zeus. Open Walls Baltimore

A new project coordinated by Gaia in his home city has kicked off recently with this mural from the young street artist. Open Walls Baltimore is a public art initiative in a neighborhood burdened by 150 vacant homes and hopes to bridge the gaps between the artist community that calls Station North home and the residents of Greenmount West.
