Last October, Liqen spent some time in Vicenza, Italy, working on his newest lithograph at Busato Workshop. Working at the same table as Miró, De Chirico and Rafael Alberti did back in the days was quite an experience for an artist fully dedicated to creating traditional artwork. Whether he is working on drawings, paintings, murals, ceramics, or creating limited editions, the Spanish always makes sure he is using the most challenging ways of producing work. Devenire Fetus Granata is part of the series “Behavioval” (Oval Behavior), the idea based on […]

On January 11th, Cleon Peterson will be showing new work at Agnés B’s Galerie du Jour, his first solo in Paris. Entitled VICTORY, the exhibition will feature the American artist’s signature brutal and provocative imagery, a exaggerated reflection of the urban violence he saw firsthand in his youth. He further explains – “This show explores the hedonistic triumphs of those who recognize themselves as victorious in the unfolding mirror of history. Their right to pleasure hinges on their projection of pain onto the unvictorious other. This […]

This, along with an accompanying book by the same name, is the latest project by Roger Gastman, who previously co-curated MOCA’s landmark Art in the Streets exhibition (covered) and […]

Swamped with Basel Week Miami coverage, we’ve almost missed the release of a new print by the Spanish artist Aryz. His latest self produced and self released print is titled Death of Beauty and we were told only few copies are still left unsold. Though known primarily for his unique large murals, Aryz chose a color pencil study as an image for his latest release. Always up for trying new things, and true to the concept of studies and drawings being the most honest form of […]
