We’ve been following the work of Brooklyn artist Kevin Cyr for a little while now and we were excited to hear that he has a new body of work appearing at Raandesk Gallery of Art in New York. “Behind the Curtain” also features Jason Bryant, whom Cyr met whilst they were both working as assistants for Kehinde Wiley. Releases: Gary Baseman – “Midnight Magi” Figure

Today, Gary Baseman (interviewed) is set to release his first figure “Midnight Magi” with toy maker Kidrobot. This heralds the launch of Kidrobot Black, an ultra-exclusive line that features only one colorway – black, with the molds being broken after production. The cool figure is limited to only 200 pieces and will only be released on a special Kidrobot site: http://www.black.kidrobot.com. So, keep your eyes peeled for the special site to go live. Openings: “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe” Show @ Gallery 1988 (LA)

Gallery 1988 in Los Angeles opened their “Under the Influence – He-Man and the Masters of the Universe” exhibition (previewed) last weekend.  Not only were their a plethora of themed works on display, it seems the gallery went full out with a Castle Greyskull installation.
