Streets: London Instagram Roundup

It’s been a long while since the last Instagram Roundup from the streets of East London here on AM, so we thought it was about time we gathered some photos of what’s been happening over the last five months.  A favourite is definitely this great wall from Sweet Toof and Paul Insect, some wonderful painting by Conor Harrington, another visit from Sheffield artist Phlegm and new stabby women paste ups by Kid Acne and plenty more. There really is too much to talk about here, [...]

Streets: London Instagram Roundup

Since the last London Street Art Roundup, Shoreditch has yet again been buzzing with activity. Much of this is due to Moniker Art Fair hitting Shoreditch for the second year running with a collection of artists around the globe filling the space of Village Underground. A highlight for AM has to be this great piece by Word to Mother (interviewed) on one of the panels outside the show which coincided with his solo show Essence of Adolescence at Stolen Space, alongside Australian duo Dabs Myla [...]

Streets: London Instagram Roundup

Some great street art surprises have popped up around Shoreditch since the last AM London Instagram Roundup. First up, this brilliant, huge piece by the prolific Sweet Toof and CEPT at Village Underground was exceptionally nice to see. LUDO (featured) has also been getting up with his paste-ups whilst in London for his solo show Metamorphosis at High Roller Society (covered). In addition, Australian artist Ghostpatrol has been busy collaborating with Kid Acne, Ema and Dscreet on an amazing wall in Dalston; and he has also been working with Malarky (a [...]

Streets: London Instagram Roundup

Again it’s been a busy couple of weeks for street art in London. AM was happy to catch sight of some new work by Mr Penfold, collaborating with Sweet Toof and a brilliant bandit style shutter with the prolific Malarky whose work seems to be going up everywhere. Either collaborating with Ronzo, Pop 187, Kata, Word to Mother and Vinnie Nylon, the streets seem to be taking on a bold and colourful make over with playful characters adorning the shutters and walls of Shoreditch. We also [...]

In the past, many of you must have enjoyed performances by Cirque du Soleil and more recently, the limited edition artist collaborations (here, here & here) presented to you by our friends at Safewalls. Now, it’s time to take the show on the road as the Safewalls x Cirque du Soleil artwork will travel to Las Vegas where the current productions of KA and Zumanity are running in the City of Sin where four new original artworks were created for the Vegas based productions by Frank [...]

Streets: London Instagram Roundup

Sweet Toof seems to be the unintentional focus for AM this week.  Seeing his work on shutters, walls and wheels he certainly has been getting about.  Definitely a favourite, was seeing his new piece on Bethnel Green Road with Brooklyn graffiti artist, Smells, a real winner. A nice addition to the trackside was added by Rowdy next to some great rollers by Horror. There was more painting again this week from Malarky, collaborating either with Billy, Mr Penfold or Sweet Toof, always a pleasure to [...]

Streets: London Instagram Roundup

The week started off well for AM with a new piece by street artist Mobstr making an appearance on Bethnel Green Road. This massive white pasteup can be seen from a distance, causing anyone who passes to stop in their tracks. Titled Visual Pollution, the letters have been cut out so the original advert can be seen through. Also, Burning Candy member Dscreet, painted a church with one of his well known owls over the top of an original mural of Jesus. Dscreet’s owl takes on [...]

Streets: London Instagram Roundup

I have been kindly asked by the nice guys here at AM if I would like to submit a weekly street art article from my Instagram feed. Without hesitation I accepted… For those of you who haven’t heard about Instagram, it’s an app on the iPhone where you can upload and share pictures, so all photos are taken with the iPhone. I mainly focus on the streets of Shoreditch and areas of Hackney, London, taking photographs of new and old streetart. So, here goes, I [...]

Openings: Sweet Toof – “Dark Horse” @ Factory Fresh

UK street artist Sweet Toof recently visited New York to show his latest series of indoor works at Brooklyn gallery Factory Fresh. Moving his iconic outdoor “Toofy” characters from the gritty urban arena into a more subtle indoor setting, Sweet Toof focused on creating beautiful oil on canvas paintings. Of course, it wouldn’t be a show if there wasn’t some outdoor art. Sweet also hit up the exteriors along with a vehicle beautification campaign. The show lasts until tomorrow, May 22nd, so check it out if [...]
