As you have seen in our previous coverage (here & here), Joe Ledbetter has been painting a series of mutant bunny sculptures. Sometimes mirroring paintings he has created in the past and sometimes coming up with something new, the 12″ customs are beautiful to behold and certainly something true JLed fans would want in their collections. The pieces are sculpted by Pretty in Plastic – please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you want to be informed of the next release. More images of the most recent pieces […]

Playing to his strengths of appropriating pop culture for his own unique creations, Ron English (featured) has recently revealed two projects he has been working on. The first is the melding of Barack Obama and The Incredible Hulk into one amazing sculpt although we aren’t quite sure what the message is. Not sure if this piece will be released to collectors any time soon, but the other little item he has completed is now for sale at NOWhere Limited for $60 and limited to 500. Fat Tony […]
KAWS fans out there will be pleased to know that the next figure from the street turned contemporary artist has dropped. Partners features a sculpt of the artist standing next to his companion figure. If this looks familiar, it’s because you probably have seen the statue at Disneyland featuring Walt Disney standing next to Mickey Mouse although not cringing like in this version. There’s a little more info here, but also take a look at more detailed shots after the jump…
Not only has David Flores been busy in the streets and in the gallery, he has also been working on a new figure entitled Deathead. The 10″ tall reinterpretation of Mickey melded with Totenkopf symbol utilized by the Prussian army during the time of Frederick the Great will be produced by Bic Plastics and reportedly come in five colorways. As you can see, present in the design is Flores signature segmented silhouettes. Photo via the artist. Discuss David Flores here.
Several months ago, we brought your attention to the first set of hand-painted mutant bunny sculptures from Joe Ledbetter. The LA-based painter and art toy mogul has not released the next five of what will be an eventual total of 40. The 12″ figures (sculpted by Pretty in Plastic) are priced at $1500 and should be the crown jewel in the collection of any fan of Ledbetter’s three-dimensional work. For those interested, you can email email@example.com. More detailed photos after the jump…
We still have a couple more things to cover before we close the book on this year’s Baby Tattooville. One of these is the much anticipated “goodie bag” that attendees to the annual art retreat receive at the end of the weekend. Besides the sweet Diesel Fuel print set and reproduction of the Art Jam painting, a collection of other limited editions, drawings, and art paraphernalia was given away just before the trip home. More detailed photos after the jump by Carlos Gonzalez.
Since the Dissected Milo set was released back in February, KAWS hasn’t released anything on the vinyl toy front, undoubtedly due to focusing on his fine art and recent solo Hold the Line. That will all change next week with the release of his Peanuts homage to Snoopy, aptly dubbed Joe KAWS. The figure, who’s release was effectively set in stone over a year ago with the release of an OriginalFake x Peanuts Joe KAWS t-shirt collaboration to mark the 60th Anniversary of the Charles Schulz […]
