Next Saturday night (September 23), the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles will be presenting Giant Robot Biennale 3, its third show (see 2009) in conjunction with Eric Nakamura (interviewed), the founder of Asian American pop culture purveyor Giant Robot. This year’s exhibition highlights the works of emerging artists Rob Sato, Deth P. Sun, Ako Castuera, Eishi Takaoka, Saelee Oh, Sean Chao, Albert Reyes, and Zach Gage, all with long ties to GR. Also on display will be a selection of vinyl figures designed by Uglydoll creator David Horvath and customized by over 80 artists (like the piece done by Yoskay Yamamoto seen above) collectively dubbed Remix Project.
