Rising Contemporary star Ian Francis is set to attend the Semi-Permanent design exhibition in Sydney, Australia. The white hot Bristol phenom has been invited to share his dreamy abstract landscapes and photo-realistic subjects with his fans “down under.” To coincide with the conference, Kinsey DesForges (KDF) has set up an amazing exhibition entitled “New Work” which opens on April 3rd @ MTV Gallery in East Sydney. This secret “pop-up” show follows the stunning sold out show that Ian had with KDF in Los Angeles last fall. If you’re lucky enough […]

Preview/Interviews: Matt Small – “Youngstarrs” @ Black Rat Press

Matt Small’s long awaited solo show “Youngstarrs” opens at Black Rat Press on Friday, March 27th. Small has developed a unique style of portrait painting which he uses to acknowledge and passionately celebrate individuals on the outskirts of society who are typically ignored or routinely demonized by the media through no fault of their own. Small’s following has been building for some time and this show features a new body of work on salvaged metal and concrete as well as some canvas pieces – definitely […]

New Banksy @ NNLS Charity Auction

Banksy is at it again. This time, he’s created a new piece to be auctioned off for another charity event. The NNLS auction is actually an “undies” auction where celebrities literally donate their “bottoms” to raise money for the charity at hand. Sir Banksy managed to find another creative way to donate undies to the cause without revealing his waist size by remixing his “Very Little Helps” image that he revealed last year at POW’s Open Day (covered).  He used a stencil of “Union Jack” […]

Preview: Chris Anthony – “Venice” @ Corey Helford (Special Exhibition Space)

Award winning photographer Chris Anthony is back with a new series of works hosted Corey Helford Gallery opening March 28th. The show entitled “Venice” is set to a theme where the world is submerged in an icy, overcast, and flooded landscape. Think of intriguing subjects shot and showcased in a dreary “Waterworld” setting. Breaking into the scene and hitting his stride as a photographer of gaudy rock bands while just a teenager, Chris then took some time off after “retiring” at the age of 17 to direct music videos and commercials. […]

Interviews: Todd Schorr

Todd Schorr’s show, “The World We Live In,” is fast approaching, set to open this Saturday, March 28th at Merry Karnowsky Gallery in Los Angeles. Seen above is Schorr in his studio, holding up one of the smaller paintings for the show. As we have seen from this body of work so far, some of the show looks to be an outgrowth from the large “Ape Worship” painting that was part of the “Land of Retinal Delights” exhibit at the Laguna Art Museum. After completing […]
