Today at 2:00pm Eastern, affordable art-edition purveyor 20×200 will be releasing a set of Valentine’s Day inspired prints by one of our favorite photographer/artists, Kent Rogowski. The images – created exclusively for this release – are the latest from Rogowski’s Bears series, in which he turns stuffed animals inside out, transforming the commonplace children’s toys into something bizarrely cute and lovably grotesque. As per usual, 20×200 will have various sizes available to suit almost any budget, so if you are looking for that unique Valentine’s […]

Take a look at some more additional photos after the jump…

Banksy Roundup

We’ve put together a little roundup of recent Banksy news that will hopefully tie up some loose ends.  In the video above, you will see a message from Mr. B – read to the audience before the screening of his documentary “Exit Through the Gift Shop” at the Sundance Film Festival. We wish we could have been there, but there are a couple reviews out so far (here & here).  Also, for lucky fans in the UK, it looks like there are already some tickets […]

Openings: Mark Jenkins & Aakash Nihalani @ Carmichael Gallery

Last week, important shows for two young artists, Mark Jenkins and Aakash Nihalani opened jointly at the Carmichael Gallery (their last show before moving to the new Culver City location). Mark Jenkins brought many of his classics indoors such as the paper tape carousel horse and faceless hooded mannequins. In addition, the gallery setting allowed him to remix and play a little with his repertoire like with his usual multi-limbed bodies formed into a side table. This varied body of work, entitled “Meaning is Overrated” […]
