One of the most anticipated events of Basel Week Miami was the opening party for Ryan McGinness’ latest series of works Women: The New Blacklight Paintings. Presented by the folks at Country Club x The Standard Miami, the show was held inside a South Beach Strip Club (Club Madonna). Much like the mural which Ryan created for Wynwood Walls, the works took on another dimension once the black light hit. The stunning reactive paint just popped out for the viewers. Upping the ante for the opening, Mr. McGinness decided to utilized the ladies of the establishment as he painted their bodies with the black light reactive paint in order to bring his art to life.

The lines formed early due to capacity restrictions and if you thought it was hard to get in, try taking pics inside the club – near impossible as bouncers were ever vigilant. But thanks to CC, we’re able to give you an exclusive look into the artwork and festivities inside the club.
