Subliminal Projects played host to an intriguing collection of original work from artists who have been known to bend rules and break molds in their respective fields. Featuring artwork by Ryan McGinness, Blek Le Rat, David Ellis, Erik Foss, Eric White, Evan Hecox, John Van Hamersveld, Greg Lamarche, Jason Alper, Martha Cooper, Retna, Skullphone, SWOON, Tim Biskup and many more, Wreck the Walls (previewed) served as a merging of artistic niches rarely exhibited together under one roof. It’s always nice to see multiple artistic movements, from street to pop-surrealism, taking a front and center role after years of operating on the fringes. Unlike many locations, the ever-evolving gallery space, created and owned in part by Shepard Fairey, will be open through the holiday season and is worth a visit for Los Angeles natives.
