Details: KAWS x The Standard Light Bulb Set

We’re suckers for a great idea and also impatient when it comes to waiting for the delivery guys. So after posting about the KAWS x Standard Light Bulb Set, we headed to The Standard NY to cop this hot collaboration. Upon arrival, we were excited to see the shop already had the bulbs nicely installed. Even in the daylight the glowing XX’s were apparent from the dangled housing. The boxes were cleanly packaged and reminded us of our first fresh box of KK’s! Like all amazing limited edition items, the bulbs sold out in a flash.

Once home we took a detailed look at this collaboration with a fun night photo session with our trusty 4ft Dissected Companion. In the dark, the bulbs came to life as the filament in the bulbs engulfed the XX’s. Depending on the angles, the lightbulbs seemed to stare at you with a personality all their own. The signature XX lighting gives the viewer a functional sense of why these bulbs have already become another unforgettable character in the KAWS empire.
