A special project taking place at this year’s Scope New York art fair is the Rebaroque Artist Series Sound Wall, a collaborative audio/visual installation featuring Rebaroque sound panels—art and design objects created from vintage fabrics and frames that include speakers through which you can play sound or music from an iPod or other device. Curated by the multi-talented Lori Zimmer, the Sound Wall will consist of unique pieces from a selection of 20 artists, including Tara McPherson, Ellis G, Gaia, Ian Kuali’i, Jonathan Viner, Mr. Kiji, Sharktoof and ROSTARR x Madluv. The pieces will be wired together to form a wall of sound that will play throughout the fair. For the audio portion of the project, the artists, as well as musicians and publications such as DJ DB, Andy Rourke (of The Smiths) and The World’s Best Ever, were enlisted to put together the sounds and songs that inspire them.
