Last Friday night, the Above Second Gallery in Hong Kong hosted Arrested Motion’s first curatorial project, East West Connect, with a lineup that represented the diverse selection of art we love and cover for you every day. It was gratifying to see that art fans in HK appreciated this type of art as well, evidenced by the turnout and the fact that most pieces that sold so far have found homes with local collectors. We also enjoyed some interesting discussions with attendees on the idea and theme of the show which certainly struck a chord as in essence Hong Kong and its residents, because the history of the city-state, is a melting pot of East and West influences.

We want to thank the artists – Luke Chueh, Faile, Shepard Fairey, Evah Fan, Stella Im Hultberg, Tat Ito, Akino Kondoh, Travis Louie, Tomokazu Matsuyama, Brendan Monroe, Edwin Ushiro, Nick Walker, and Yoskay Yamamoto for their contributions. Make sure you stop by to check out the show in person if you are in town through January 12th.
