El Mac, who recently shared his album cover design for the new No Doubt album, was in New Mexico over the weekend for the The Hour Has Arrived initiative – a program designed to recognize the importance of fostering and preserving the craft of the Indian, which now includes the culturally informative and interactive Native Public Arts. Put together as by both Beals & Abbate Fine Art and the New Mexico Museum of Art, the project brought artists like Mac and Augustine Kofie (featured) in to collaborate with Native American street artist. The piece above is from Mac & Kofie is at the Tesuque Village Market in Santa Fe with the portrait is based on a photo of Rose Fragua whereas the other mural seen below is a collaboration between Mac & Jaque Fragua.
