After a release party for the Hello Kitty, Hello Art book that featured a themed group exhibition as well as a solo from POSE (covered) in Los Angeles, the cast of Sanrio’s beloved characters make the move to the Big Apple. Opening tonight and heading into a three-day event at the Openhouse Gallery (379 Broome – between Mott & Mulberry) in New York will be a show featuring artwork from 64 Colors, Adam Wallacavage (above), AIKO, Betsey Johnson, Cat Cult, Danni Shinya Luo, Grant Cobb, Jeremyville, Jessica Louise, Kenton Parker, Kime Buzzelli, Linas Garsys, Mark Mulroney, Miguel Paredes, Natalia Fabia, Niagara, Nicole Bruckman, Nina Chanel Abney, Paul Frank, POSE, Raul Gonzalez, RISK, Ron English, SEVER, Shane Jessup, Simone Legno, THANK YOU X, Tim Conlon, Tristan Eaton, and more artists to be announced.

“Highlights include a print release by Betsey Johnson. International graffiti sensation DABS MYLA will be onsite to paint a custom mural, and the holiday themed pop-up shop will offer an assortment of limited-edition holiday gift items, including a collectible DABS MYLA ornament, custom-made candy from Papabubble, holiday wreaths & garland and specialty Sanrio character designs by Berkeley Illustration. Continuing the holiday spirit of friendship and giving, Sanrio will release a new print by celebrated graffiti artist POSE, with 100% of the net proceeds from sales going to the American Red Cross for Hurricanes 2012. Free and open to the public, Sanrio’s Hello Kitty, Hello Art! pop-up will run on Friday, December 14 through Saturday, December 15 (11am – 8 pm) and Sunday, December 16 (11am – 5 pm).”
