Dutch based artist, illustrator, and  designer Parra is opening a solo show at Galleria Patricia Armocida in Milan, Italy, on Monday, the 27th of May entitled Il Senso di Colpa (The Guilt). Four years since his last show with the same gallery, a lot of things have changed for the artist, except for his unique style and imagery which has only became more unique, more recognizable, and more distinctive. After exhibiting in important international galleries and museums all over the world (LA, NYC, Tokyo, Paris, etc), collaborating with such brands as Nike, starting his own brand Rockwell, and releasing a couple vinyl figures as well as ceramic ones, the artist is back in Milan with a completely new body of work he prepared for this show. Using his signature over saturated red & blue palette, thick, clean outlines, polka dot patterns, and very graphic images, Parra prepared 7 big canvases, 10 watercolors on paper, and 4 ink drawings on paper, plus the Lay Down…Lay It All Down (Black) big polyester fiberglass sculpture, and two little sculptures of a Maria. As usual, his visual elements include curvy nude female bodies, high heels, bird heads, in the most bizzare positions, situations and scenarios imaginable. This time ,his characters and paintings are focused on the familiar feeling of self judgement and guilt, which everyone has experienced throughout their life, from their job situations to everyday relationships, especially emotional relationships.
