Basel Week Miami ’18 / Recap: Pulse Art Fair

The 14th edition the Pulse Art Fair returned to its oceanfront home at Indian Beach Park in Miami Beach this year, showing works selected by 70 international contemporary art galleries. Divided into two separate pavilions, the exhibitors either presented a selection of artists, had solo show booths, or were part of the Conversations program in which two artists were paired for this special concept. Releases: Parra x Nike Air Max 1 & Zoom Spiridon Collection

Over the last week or so, Parra started to reveal some new collaborations with Nike including his take on the Zoom Spiridon, & Air Max 1 (including a Friends and Family edition with the lateral swoosh removed and a matching tracksuit). Last Thursday, Joshua Liner Gallery held an opening reception for the New York showspace’s solo exhibition with Parra. The world recognized artist and designer presented a new series of twelve works on canvas, ink drawings, and sculpture, collectively titled No Work Today. Another show that closed at the Jonathan LeVine Gallery recently was Yer So Bad by Parra.
