Pieter Janssen aka Parra will be returning to Ruttkowski;68 in Cologne, Germany for his second solo with the gallery. Three years since And wait for something to happen (covered), the Dutch artist will be opening I Can’t Look At Your Face Anymore on April 15th.

The new body of work he created for this showcase is built as a response to the narcissism of selfies and the creation of edited selves in today’s social media. The artist, designer, illustrator and skateboard brand owner is pushing his visual language further with these new paintings. Known for abstract figurative works that rarely show any faces, the new pieces are explicitly focused on obscuring the face – with objects, body parts, or image composition. The new exhibition will be presented as a multimedia showcase that includes paintings, sculptures and objects, featuring his signature naive characters in situations that range from the ordinary to the saucy.
