A couple weeks ago, Doze Green presented a series new works at Jonathan LeVine Gallery entitled Out of Knowhere, his fifth showing with the Chelsea showspace. Along with new canvas paintings featuring his fusion of abstraction and cubism, the New York-born and California-based artist included a selection of monochromatic drawings on paper that represent his friends and mentors, people from NY street culture who influenced his life’s path greatly. Howard Griffin Gallery is currently presenting an exhibition and sculptural installation by Giacomo Bufarini a.k.a. RUN entitled Parabola di G. The London-based artist began painting murals on abandoned walls in Bologna and Florence in the 1990s under the pseudonym ‘RUN’ and his signature characters with interlocking hands and faces can be found from China to Senegal. Moving to London in 2007, the Italian artist continued his street work as RUN while developing his studio work. José Parlá for One World Trade Center

Continuing to make his mark in New York with high profile projects (also see Barclays Center & BAM), José Parlá recently unveiled a new mural in the One World Trade Center. The 1776 feet tall building in Manhattan took 13 years of construction and cost $3.9 billion, and stands near where the Twin Towers collapsed after the terrorist attacks on 9/11. Reka recently spent two weeks in Washington, D.C. creating murals for Art Whino Gallery’s new project. Thhe first one he created was this striking piece seen above at L’enfant Plaza, showing two female figures with something that appears like masks over their faces. Constructed with his signature style of abstract shapes that assemble together in recognizable forms, it is another example of the Australian artist’s skills when it comes to creating crisp sharp line work and combining complementing colors. The hardworking people from the PangeaSeed project are continuing their praiseworthy efforts with another successful edition of their Sea Walls: Murals for Ocean events. Ever since when he started in 2011, Joe Ledbetter has continually adding to his custom painted Mutant Bunny series (examples here, here, and here). Featuring arguably the Los Angeles-based artist’s most beloved character, each of these art objects have been painstakingly painted in creative manifestations of the original form, sometimes mirrored in paintings past or future.
