Last month, Swinton Gallery in Madrid hosted a show from Augustine Kofie (featured) entitled MKNZM (Mechanism). For his first solo exhibition in Spain, the American artist presented a new body of work including collage on wood, painting on canvas, and etched found clipboards featuring his signature structured yet free-flowing aesthetic. This time around, Kofie centered his work on the oblong shape, using them like belts to link parts of a conceptual machine while working with textures and gradients of a particular palette.
