Looks like an emerging artist that we have been following, Melissa Haslam, has landed a show in LA. She opened in a group show called “Blender” last night at the new combined Cerasoli-LeBasse Gallery in the artsy Culver City district. The new gallery is a merge between Project: Gallery and the Cerasoli Gallery (formerly The Lab 101) and hopefully will help this Australian artist have more exposure to U.S. collectors. Her paintings usually include fashionably dressed women in interesting situations that hint of perhaps a more dangerous environment than originally thought at first glance. There also seems to intricate plant, insect, and animal life in many of her works drawing viewers deeper into the landscapes and narratives of her world.
