Ron English’s latest solo show at Elms Lesters opened this past Friday with the UK crowd bustling to get a glimpse of the Jersey-based artist’s latest body of work. Last night, the Carmichael GalleryÂ in Hollywood pulled no punches with their all-star show, “Get Rich Quick!,” showcasing the strongest talents in the street and urban art genre. Some scorching hot pieces lined the gallery’s walls for the exhibition, including: a rare BanksyÂ canvas, a KAWS ad disruption, boxes and screen-printed collages fromÂ Faile, to originals by Barry McGeeÂ and Micallef and much more. This past weekend, Logan Hicks and Broken Crow (Mike Fitzsimmons & John Grider) opened their “drive-by” show “Broken Horse” for a packed Brooklyn house. Held in a unique venue that once housed the Hamilton Savings & Loan, the art was really the draw. Yoskay has been heads-down for the better part of 2009 crafting an intricate series of paintings for what looks to be a tremendous exhibition. Corey Helford Gallery held a very special collector’s preview of Gary Basemanâ€™s latest exhibition “La Noche de la Fusion.” The amazing “Enlightened Chou” installation was more impressive, once assembled, than when we previewed it inÂ our studio visit. The installation is comprised of many Chous, each one is from a different country: Thailand, India, Mexico, Brazil, Russia. Stencil sensations Logan Hicks and Broken Crow (Mike Fitzsimmons & John Grider) took some time do an interview with AM for their upcoming “drive-by” show “Broken Horse.” The much anticipatedÂ urban stencilÂ show will be held inÂ an awesome venue that was once the Hamilton Savings & Loan in Brooklyn, opening tomorrow, May 1st, from 7-11pm.
